Chooka Parker

Chooka Parker Australia’s Got Talent King of Keys

Chooka Parker is an exceptionally talented self-taught pianist and astounded the Australia’s Got Talent judges and audience when he performed on their stage in 2011, making his song up on-the-spot and finishing as a finalist.

Chooka grew up in rural Victoria, living without TV, internet or music, instead drawing from his natural surroundings free to be a creative, outdoor lad. He developed a curiosity about Classical music when given a Mozart CD at 11 and when he was 13 years old, learned Clarinet, but decided to take up piano one and a half years later.  At 16, his shearing mates told him of the reality show, Australia’s Got Talent and his journey in music began. Immediately after the show, he went on to independently record his debut album, ‘No Worries!’  (again almost all of it improvised).  He has performed around Australia in most states and varying venues, including Etihad Stadium in Melbourne ~with a crowd of over 20,000.

Winning the People’s Choice Award at MusicOz Awards in May 2012, he performed in the prestigious Sydney Opera House! Shortly after, he was invited to again perform at the next season of Australia’s Got Talent, but this time as Special Guest Performer.
After releasing his 2nd CD ‘My Jewel’ in September 2013, Chooka toured Queensland extensively receiving great reviews of this album. His music has a therapeutic effect and draws you from deep within, often causing a love for music and a desire to learn piano. Chooka has inspired countless people. His single, ‘It Doesn’t Matter Now‘, featuring  Sarah Leaf, shows his songwriting skills and poetry are another budding talent. (He is currently developing this talent.) With his 3rd album released ‘Man of the Sand‘, Chooka’s style continues to expand and flourish. He has a double album in the pipeline.

He has written for documentaries and websites, and is currently signed up to write music for a film. This is the path he wants to take and he is very excited at this opportunity.
